Shanghai and Wiesbaden

Last weekend, we were fairly spread out: Gert-Jan was in Shanghai starting in the Global Champions Tour, and I was in Wiesbaden at the Whitsun Tournament.

Error: no file object

Abdullah al Sharbatly had bought Gert-Jan's Andrea in December of last year, of course, and is already getting on very well with her. To show his gratitude for all the help, he lent her to Gert-Jan again for the competition in Shanghai. Gert-Jan would otherwise not have been able to get to Shanghai. He was in Hamburg with a few horses, and the horses were flown to Shanghai on the Hamburg weekend. It was great to see how quickly Gert-Jan and Andrea got used to each other again in Shanghai. In difficult jumping on the Friday, they completed the round without faults and only knocked down the last in the jump-off. On Sunday, they had two faults, but Andrea jumped really well. And then Gert-Jan had our grandpa there, that's right: Cash Junior. On all three days, he made the well-known, one, annoying mistake. Shame!

Things went brilliantly for me in Wiesbaden. I went to Hessen with just Ulke. On Saturday, she had one fault in the 1.50 meter event, in the qualification for the grand prix on Sunday, she was double-clear in the preliminary round and the jump-off. Fantastic! We ended up in fourth place. That was really great! And on Monday in the grand prix, a fast four-faults round took us into the winners' round of the best twelve, which meant that were placed. I was well and truly satisfied

And we have also had a foal and a little world champion. A very sweet foal from our Cigalla, the father is Philippe Le Jeune's world champion from Kentucky, Vigo d'Arsouilles. We're looking forward to seeing how the little tot will develop
